A Historic Milestone: Celebrating the Exceptional Mr. Maxwell de Silva’s Double Fellowship Honour

In 2000, a remarkable chapter was written in the story of Sri Lanka’s maritime and logistics community — one that continues to inspire us at MCS Logistics today. That year, Mrs. Manouri de Silva, then the Chartering Manager of Ceylon Shipping Corporation, joined her husband, Mr. Maxwell de Silva, the inaugurated Chairman of the ICS Sri Lanka Branch, in earning the distinguished Fellowship of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS).

Together, they became the first family couple in Sri Lanka to achieve this prestigious dual fellowship — a milestone that remains a proud symbol of dedication, knowledge, and unity in both their professional and personal lives. As the Founder and Chairman of MCS Logistics, Mr. Maxwell de Silva has always believed in building with purpose and leading with integrity. Alongside him, Mrs. Manouri de Silva’s steadfast professionalism and vision have shaped our company’s journey from its very first steps.

More than two decades later, the same spirit that earned them this honour continues to guide their leadership today. Their story is not only one of accomplishment but of partnership — a testament to shared dreams, mutual respect, and the enduring power of teamwork in charting new horizons.
