2012—History Made Again: The First Family of Three FICS Fellows. Twelve years later, the de Silva legacy reached an even rarer height. In a ceremony held in Colombo, their daughter, Rushika Quyn—Director at MCS Logistics—received her Fellowship certificate from Mr. Tony Dixon, then Global Chairman of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (London).
With this election, the de Silva–Quyn family made global history, becoming the first and only family in the institute’s century-long existence to produce three Fellows (FICS).
Rushika’s achievement stands as a powerful testament to the mentorship, dedication, and passion for shipping that run through generations of this remarkable family.
From the founding vision of Maxwell and Manouri de Silva to Rushika Quyn’s continued Leadership today, three FICS designations represent far more than professional qualifications –they embody a living legacy of integrity, expertise, and pioneering spirit that remains at the heart of everything we do at MCS Logistics.
We are immensely proud that our leadership carries the highest global recognition in shipbroking and shipping – and even prouder that this recognition belongs to one extraordinary family.
